Correspondence from A.B. Gray to John Torrey, dated 1856, discussing a sketch of an Ammobroma (now Pholisma) which was last in the hands of California Congressman Philemon T. Herbert, but has gone missing after an incident in which Herbert murdered a hotel waiter. Gray write that he will visit Congress soon and plans to inquire as to its whereabouts.
